Will a 2001 > 2006 intercooler fit a classic UK yr2000?
I have a xreg year 2000 uk2000 subaru, would a later 2001>2006 intercooler fit without problems???
I want to upgrade to a alloy one for looks mainly aswell as better cooling!
any help would be great!!! THANKS

Its fiddly to fit but I put an newage STI cooler on mine on Sunday.
Got some knocking at the moment but I think its just banging on top of the clutch fluid res - I cut about 20mm off but could do with a little more.
Depending on what DV you use, you need to trim the studs that the coil pack screws to and you need an newage IC bracket on the left (you facing car) and modify the classic right hand bracket.
Do a search. This is the guide I used

However I cut a section off the right hand bracket to bend it more into line with one of the manifold bracket. Just need to drill a hole into the bracket so I can fit 2 bolts in on that side.
I also used some sections of ally I had knocking about.

IN short, yes, it's not that hard if you're sensible and can make the odd bracket and sort the dumpvalve pipe.....
here's what mine looks like, but i painted the intercoler black for the 'standard' look.....

i have a 2004 wrx i/c on a my2000 classic...... newage drivers side bracket needed and a home made extension and the standard passenger side used..... not as big as an sti unit but bigger than the original and seems to cool very well
