Default Coolant temps

For those of you with gauges/monitors, what are you seeing as coolant temp ranges on your car......mine warms up quickly and can hit 97-98c when driven hard. Is this normal or is it running hot?

seems a bit high, are the fans working? mine only see those kind of temps if I stop for fuel or something and then restart, but it drops then within seconds of the fans kicking in.

In normal driving and with a few blasts I see 86 - 89 then when stationary in traffic I may get a 91

I've just fitted a water temp sensor in the top rad hose as my dash one never seemed to work/move.

I'm getting 75-80 C normal driving. The faster I go the cooler the car seems to get.

I thought these temps were quite low, but the car warms up quite quickly so I dont think there's anything wrong with the thermostat.

If I sit in traffic the temp can go up to 90+ quite quickly.

dont think that is low to be honest from where you have the temp sensor mounted. You wont have the additional thermal heat from the engine there as per the standard sensor

my Power FC reads 86 degrees driving normally. While stopped in traffic it goes up to 92 degrees then the fan kicks in and it goes nack to 86.

82-86 degrees normal crusing. Sat in traffic the fan comes in at 92-94 C. and rarely gets above 96 except perhaps briefly on the hottest days of the year. All figures for a Classic with OE thermostat, radiator, TMIC etc.

sorry dig this thread up, but my car gets to 92 degrees & the fans just stay on constantly, the temp doesnt seem to go down. Its just had a new radiator & its never been in the "Red" only seems to have happened in the last couple of days. I was thinking maybe the thermostat isn't opening as the rad itself isn't getting that hot or maybe an airleak?

its going in for a rebuild in a few days but I don't want to bugger the engine further, if you know what I mean?

cheers in advance for any replies.
