Very high idle after fitting newage cooler to classic
I fitted an STI8 IC to my classic today and now the idle is at 1500 - 1700. Also the revs seem to take ages to go back down after the throttle is closed but never go below 1500.
Is there anything I could have damaged/knocked that could cause this? Boost seems normal but only tickled it home in case I've done something serious to it.
I've changed the DV from an SSQV to the STI8s OE valve so now its getting the proper airflow - thought this might be it but it hasn't sorted it out.
Also fitted an earth kit and PIAA spotlights - got an issue with the spotlights - only mention this if it could be related but I think I've knocked something shoe-horning the IC into place.
Ta
EDIT - car has ECUTEK mapping.

Could be the throttle position switch, I must have knocked mine when removing the intercooler. It doesn't see the fully closed throttle position and hence deosn't attempt to control idle, i was left with 1500 rpm which is the initial cold start idle. I just loosened the screws and moved it a tiny little bit in the direction the throttle moves open, all sorted.
Mind you it's great for keeping revs up during gear changes

It does seem like its starting from cold every time I turn it over.
Where is the throttle position switch? Can you explain a little more what you did I was quite rough with the IC getting in so fingers crossed its something as simple as that.
Cheers

You might have an air leak downstream of the throttle. With the car idling, have a listen for a hissing sound and think carefully about all the joints that you might have undone whilst putting the IC on. Check you vacuum tappings on the manifold too.
Hope this helps.
