hi i have a 93wrx import, after the MAF there is a black box wich i have no idea wot it does or is could. my mate said he took his off an car didnt run, Any1 know what it does an is called? sorry no pics as would be easier wiv pics.

it is a resonator.. it can be replaced with pipe

i thought they were in the inner wing? its goes from maf to engine an has rounded edges. so would be ok just to take off an replce wiv pipe? would this be better performance wise?

there too.. this is a phase 1 car only. .

70mm one end and 60mm the other iirc..

you can get specific replacements.. the idle valves takes it's air from it..

A lot of induction kits come with a piece of pipework that replaces this.
You won't get much in the way of gains, but underneath there's a breather into it and this is very flimsy and often breaks off so worthwhile replacing.
