Default crank for 1995 ej20 engine question

i have just bought a ej20 engine which i am going to tune my target bhp is 400bhp

but im unsure which crank will be the best to replace it, im told the sti9 crank is the best but the thrust bearing is in the wrong place for my engine isnt it?

does anyone know which will be my best option?

didnt some of the type-R`s of that year have strongercranks that could rev to 8000rpm?

I am currently rebuilding my v5 STI after a bottom end failure and told that the MY05 STI (v9) crank is the best to use and even better is the Nitrated one from RCM.

Not sure about the thrust bearing issue, thats for someone else more knowledgeable than me to answer.

maybe somebody else can offer more advice

Early block will need to be machined to tack an STi9 crank as the thrust bearing is at the rear whereas the standard crank its in the centre, TBH there's really nothing wrong with a standard crank as long as you use quality bearings and a modified oil pump to make sure the oil is always circulating around the oil ways.
