Default 99my tickover when cold

99my turbo ticking over @ 1500rpm when cold but a steady 850 when warm. have just had maf sensor swapped at local dealer under parts warrenty but the tick over is still high when cold. not sure if the temp sensor would cause this or the idle speed control valve. any idea's would help thanks

Yep its meant to tick over faster when cold,Give a blip on the throttle and it'll probably come down.

no it won't come down till it hit's temp even with a blip on the throttle i thought 1500 was a little high really.

mines 1500 when cold and so was the one before that.Athough mine does come down with a blip and way before max temp is reached. So maybe you do have a temp sender issue.

It's supposed to tick over at higher revs when cold. As long as it doesn't do it when the temp. is at 'normal' levels then all is ok.

My MY99 T2000 ticks over at 1500rpm for a couple of mins when its cold (like this morning at approx freezing outside temp). Blipping the throttle doesnt really bring mine down, just waiting and letting it warm up.

Still might be worth investigating though if its taking a small lifetime to slow idle or only calms down at full running temp.

Fingers crossed theres nothing wrong with your car
