coil packs
i fitted some new plugs to my classic(pfr 7b 0.7 gap)and since then it is hesitating like it going to stall (sometimes that bad)only happens when going slow or not using boost seems ok on boost.i had it in subaru today too have both rocker gaskets replaced and they had a look at the plugs and said i need new coil packs.before i fitted these new spark plugs it was running fine no problems,so i dont understand unless i have damaged the coils on removing the old plugs.is there anything else i can try or should i cough up for new coil packs.

Probably damaged the end of a coil on removal or replacing it ! my mate done that and when he pulled the rubber end covers of bits of plastic fell out !! i had to get him a new set of 4 , £60 + vat each from dealer , made a huge difference to running and boost levels when we replaced them .

ill take them out over the weekend and have a good look at them although not too sure what to be looking for unless obvious damage, prob me being too heavy handed.might have to buy new coil packs a few more mods on hold then) just paid out £200 now more money going to subaru then prob crank seal.

cheers snap on i will have a look at weekend and try the silicon like you said if there not too bad, cheers
i have noticed that when the car is cold and you drive it then it doesnt hesitate, only when the engine warms up it starts doing it again.

changed the pfr7b`s back to pfr6b`s and all is ok now (touch wood).ive just been on a 20 min run and all is good no hesiation or misfire.when i took coil`s off all looked fine just goes to show subaru wanted me to get new coil pack`s and there was nothing wrong with them. must of been the plugs that was the problem strange i thought 7b`s would of been ok.
