A 98 Sti RA v4 should be running a 75 ecu, with three yellow connecting plugs.

I could be wrong, but I thought a 7D ecu is from a pre-facelift UK car. If I'm right (don't take my word only for it!), it is completely wrong, and wouldn't even have the right connectors (4x yellow connecting plugs)

A 75 would be best, you might get away with a 6S (STi 3) but I wouldn't recommend running anything else.

Oops just to add if you run a 6S you would need to change the wiring - there were slight differences I think (ravensblade has the pinouts) although the connectors are the same.

Thanks very much Sprint chief . A 75 is what it will have to be then.
Just got to find one at a reasonable price now.
Thanks again

Hmm, thinking about it my 6S advice could be bogus. I think they changed some of the sensors between the V3 and V4 so the 6S would probably blow your engine up. Best go for the 75. 75's were fitted to all STi v4s (type Rs, type RAs and regular STis) but they were fitted to that MY only so not so easy to come by!

I've got to find an engine too but was told the v3 is the same. If that is so ,is it only sensors etc that are different from the v4
