Default ecu reset question

will disconnecting my battery for half an hour reset my ecu?

yes did it on my sti left it off for an hour and reset it

Should work as all you are doing is draining the capacitors in the ecu.
I changed to a z4 ecu which had been unpowered for a few days connected it to the car worked a treat

i have a z4 on now, will the battery trick work the same on this ecu

should do as you are draining the capacitors.
Might i ask why you need to reset the ecu?

After the reset take it for a drive (normal road speeds no need to rag the car) the ecu will adjust itself.
If it stills feel sluggish check Main Heading Goes Here

as per previously posted link this is the instant way to do it on a classic and resets on newer models:

is the (Classic (JECS) ECU) the common ecu for a 93 wrx import do u no thinking of resetting my ecu using the scooby pedia metod shown aboved wondered if this would sort out my hesitation and rev loss problems since decatting my car any suggestions cheers

Melly if you have just decatted your car it shouldn't make any difference to the running of your (i've had it done on my 93wrx and its fine).
Yes the JECS ecu is standard should have either u8,w6 or 2c (not too sure of the last number/letter).
You can reset the ecu but its more likely to be coilpacks or sparkplugs causing the problem (i'm not an expert but the ecu is very reliable so not likely to be the problem).
I have a couple of spare standard 93wrx ecus if you want to try a different one.
