Smile Boost gauge

The boost gauge I have at the moment is a Splitfire which I don't think is very good,is there a better one without breaking the bank? I did ring somebody once, nicky something, I think he was a rally driver in Wales selling gauges, I was asked if I wanted mechanical or electronic, when I replied I did'nt know which I needed he lost interest. The car is a UK MY98 if anybody knows. Cheers Mick.

hi there. you can fit either an electrical or mechanical gauge to your car, its up to you. the mechanical gauge is connected directly to the rubber pipe coming from the manifold via a length of tubing and a t-piece connector. The electrical type has a pressure sensor connected to the rubber pipe with a t-piece connector and a short length of tubing. The signal is then sent to the gauge electrically via two wires. not sure which is more accurate though. there are plenty for sale on (dare i say it) Ebay.
