Default Detonation or Some other issue

Hey everyone I hope someone across the pond can help me out with this issue. In the summer of 05 I purchaced a 1995 EJ20G from a local import company to install in my 2000 USDM 2.5RS. Right now I'm either having detonation issues or possiable over fueling issues. Here are my symptoms.
Under normal acceleration and cruising I dont have any issues with the engine. At WOT the seems to surge or the fuel is cut. Feels like I hit a brick wall. The tach doesn't seem to indicate much cause the jolt happens quite quick and there is no quick boost hit on my boost gage. I do smell fuel in the cabin. This only seems to happen in colder weather. With headding into the Vermont winter season I don't want to miss out on any of the fun.

If you need anymore information that I might have left out please ask and I'll try to find out the information ASAP

Thanks for all your help,
Jonathan

Sounds like fuel cut, but I would advise yoyu have the fueling checked. I take it you have not had a re-map? if not, this is advisable

What does the car boost at?
