It depends how hard you're going to push it.

I would certainly say you want to be within 0.025", or 0.001" in English

Vf28 and appropriate mods (ported headers, inlet manifold spacers, ported heads and inlet manifold, 3 port boost solenoid, 3" exhaust, samco inlet pipe, FMIC and induction filter the oligatory Walbro and PFR7B's) i am hoping for about 340bhp with good drivability in the end, so the engine shouldn't be running that hard i don't think.

I will shim them to within 0.025mm then, cheers R19KET

you can buy feeler gauge steel from "Buck and Hickman" although they are an Engineers outlet really and they wont be open till Monday, but they do go down to .001" or .0254mm.

Hi there,
I have a impreza sport 2.0 (non-turbo) my98, what type of valve adjustment do these have?
I have a tapping noise coming from the nearside rockercover and would like to know what im looking at when i remove the cover.
Any help on how to check and adjust would be most grateful.
many thanks
Russell
