I sold mine for £300.00 (came from a sti8 17k miles)
Seen them go for slightly higher on ebay although I'd persoanlly prefer to buy from someone on here.
Second hand traders/ breakers sell them for £450-500 (last one I saw was here Jap Performance Parts)
Average I'd say is between £300 - £350

iirc API do recon VF35's for £350..
Just gone from mapped TD04 to a VF35 with usual mods on my 05 WRX. As NS04 say's lag is a little more noticable (pedal needs more movement) but after a week or two you don't notice it. What you do notice is the increased SHOVE. The difference between 276x266 and 348x333 is incredible, but then again my car did respond very well according to Bob..

I am hoping for similar figures to those jasonius!
My MY03 WRX is booked into Tracktive next week:-
VF34, 500 injectors, headers (ceramic coated), another remap by Richard Bulmar. I am hoping for an easy 340/340 really. Or nearly there, but i wont be happy with 300 or 320, LOLOL.
I dunno, figures, its only numbers but it matter to me!
Forgot to ask, jasonius, is the difference in power/torque that good? Ace!
EDIT again:- Forgot to say, i am having an AP clutch and lightened flywheel done too.

VF35, sleeve bearing turbo, has a smaller exhaust housing P15, runs out of steam 330-340 HP, VF34 is a roller bearing turbo, bigger exhaust housing P18, spools slower than a VF35 but offers more top end power than the VF35, seen upto 370 on Dyno Dynamics rolling road but this was at silly boost levels and it was surging all over the place, 350-360 would be a better proposition on sensible boost levels.

The car is MUCH stronger (even though I initially missed the response of the mapped TD04) and now pulls harder for longer. Can say that I wouldn't want it any quicker for the road..!

Glad to hear your mapping session went so well; that's a fantastic result!! A bigger blower certainly makes a nice difference doesn't it?

I'm in kent and would need the turbo, fuel pump and reg fitted. Then ofcourse i'll need a remap on my tek2'd ecu. Who's the best down south??

In short. It's a bigger turbo, so the boost threshold (the point it kicks in) is a bit higher in the rev range than the TD04 (about 500rpm I'd say) but in terms of lag (the delay in reponse to the throttle), there is very little in it; the VF 35 spools very quicky, as I understand it, this is due to the small exhaust housing. Incidentally, a set of ported and wrapped headers go some way to negating the slightly later spool up and help liberate more power, so they would always be on my list when upgrading the turbo!!
The fact that the turbo kicks in later has to be put in context if you look at the following graph, you'll see that at about 2900 rpm, my car is producing about the same torque as a std UK turbo at it's peak (5500 rpm IIRC). My car now produces its peak torque at 4500rpm. Similar story with BHP, my car now produces as much at about 3800 rpm as a std turbo at about 5500rpm and from there, of course, it just keeps getting better!! This makes for a very quick road car, especially when you take into acccount torque and power to weight ratios.

I'm not sure if that was taken driving through the speeds or from a start at a stable 60.
The same estimate for your car, assuming 348bhp at flywheel and 1350KGs weight
60 - 100 (Secs) : 6.24
So yours is marginally quicker over that increment

What year did the spec c get a twin scroll turbo?
If it is a twin scroll it's not a direct fit to a classic. Will need headers and up-pipe too (possibly downpipe?).
Likewise if you're not going twin scroll on your new turbo same would apply.
NS04 - try reading spec'c'57 's post 5 or 6 times slowly and all will become clear
BTW I doubt anyone with a VF35 turbo would be worth while switching to larger than 440cc injectors (if you already have that big), at very most a little increase in fuel pressure should see them max out a shade after the turbo
