Fule pipe cover
A classic scoob. I was cleaning the drivers side rear wheel arch and noticed the plastic cover over the main fuel pipe to the fuel tank. On taking the cover off - i noticed it had accumulated mud etc which has started to corode the pipe
So, i'm thinkikg of a quick lick of hamerite to stop it rusting further. But do i need to put the cover back on...???

Hi mate
I have just had my car fail the MOT because mine was corroded (badly)
I have just changed it and replaced the black cover, If you were to see my old pipe you would put 20 coats or hammerite/underseal on it, what a mess. As for the plastic cover i would put it back on as its very exposed to weather under there and any protection, however small is a help.
So my car is back in for test Friday and will be recieving a coat or two of underseal in the coming weeks.
