Default My99 max boost

Hi all, I have a 99uk with a sti v5 tmic, profecB II boost controller, pressure reg., walbro pump, knocklink and just fitted an fcd, my question is, now that I have got rid of the annoying fuel cut what is the maximum boost pressure I can safely go to without stressing the bottom end or turbo too much ?
Its currently running 1.14 bar and seems to be ok, but I have heard of people running 1.5 bar, is this correct? I dont know if the turbo is TD04 or 05..
Any help would be appreciated as i dont want to ruin a good reliable engine....

Too late.........

its not worth going about it half measure mate,it needs proper setting up.not just winding the boost up,but fuel and ignition needs attention also afr needs checking with a wide band sensor to ensure its rich enough when on boost ,or it will go bang...id reccomend a ecutek remap for your car,or an Apexi pfc combined with a bigger turbo than the td04 you have, you have some good upgrades already, just needs some more to finish it off.

^^^^^^What he said^^^^^^^

This is an example of what can be done with an MY99

Can't recommend API and Bob Rawle enough!

My advice is to do it properly, if you insist on using a boost controller then at least get it set up by someone with a wideband AFR and det cans then don't touch it!!! You should also invest in a knocklink to watch for DET.

Really though, a remap is the way to go if you want the best and -most importantly- reliable gains!

Anything above 1.3 bar without (or even with) a remap can be hazardous to the engine.
1.2 peak is about as high as you want to safely go on the standard turbo, as your car is an MY99 you can have it remapped on its standard ecu cost about 650 plus vat.
