Hey guys,

I’m just after a bit of advice on what you guys think is the 'best' all round Impreza engine (STi) that would fit into a MY96 v2 STi. I've been looking at all the engines and talking to a lot of people and it seems that each version/phase of engine has its pros and cons, some worse than others!!! So for all the STi engines what version would you guys recommend buying?

well i guess for all round performance then the jap spec 2.0 twin scroll sti engine would be a good all rounder... or a 2.5 euro spec sti running a larger than standard turbo... but like you say each type has its own pros and cons, revvability, outright power, torque and driveablity etc..
