Default remap needed???

i posted a thread here a while ago, basically as my car idles lumpy sometimes. i have a full afterburner/ninja combo decat system fitted, and have just been reading comments about remapping after a decat. is this needed badly or is it personal discrection?

would a remap rid me of lumpy idling, as ive now started warming up my car thoroughly before and after use due to the colder weather...

comments/suggestions?

andy p.s. car is a pre facelift wrx...

Well to remap you would need:

FC or similar.

ScoobyECU.

Or fit a Z4 the benifits are around if yousearch.

could be worth doing... im hoping the full decat has given me 15-20bhp extra and the ecu now is a U8 so a Z4 will be off a later model assuming.

looking at a scobyclinic remap any way but sorting brakes and handling out first after my prang a while ago.

Idle sensor, water temp sensor, failing maf and dodgy coil packs can all cause a lumpy idle,so may possibly be the first things to check?

The idle sensor can be cleaned and the coil packs can be removed and inspected for cracks....I know that much

the early mafs are quite reliable. Chances are its your coil packs or plugs. I know when my plugs need changing as it gives the symptoms you currently have.

BTW I used to run my wrx 92 with a full decat, induction kit on a U8 ecu sometimes using supermarket unleaded! never went above green on the knocklink
