Hi there im having a problem with my 95 wrx and it now and again only boosts to 0.5 bar at times like on the odd occasion and at other times it boosts fine.

if the ecu was picking up a fault and restricting boost would the cel light come on????

i have a slight inclination it may be the actuator but im not 100 percent to be honest.....i was gonna take the actuator off and have a visual inspection of it and see if there is any rust or that on it and check the rod for play etc etc.....someone advised me to give it a lil spray with wd40 for now and see what it goes like after that.

Also when i go about cleaning the boost solenoid....is it just a case of removing the boost hoses and spraying carb cleaner into the three ports on the solenoid??
