Question Ecutek power figures compared with rolling road?

Anyone know what Ecutek's power figures on a flat out run compare with a rolling road on a new age motor? I know rolling roads vary but just wonder if anyone's had the mapping done and then taken the car to rollers and compared the results?

Ecutek Dlta dash run on my car showing about 300 at the wheels.

And on a dyno dynamics RR a few weeks after showing about 310 at the wheels. obviously a lot depends on the wieghts and calibration used during the DD run as well as the variance in dynos, but in my case they were pretty close.

I am waiting for bob to forward me the runs that we did when mapping on sunday, which i will then compare to a DD rolling road when possible.

Like Mark says though it will largely be down to the weight estimations, gearbox ratios, fuel weights etc....we estimated mine with 2 up, half a tank and a few bits and bobs in the car to be around 1600-1620.

Okay, thanks guys...

Didn't think we'd have to add car/people/petrol tank weights etc but makes sense as rollers just do wheel horsepower, gear selected and revs I guess.

I'm sure you can get at least 10 bhp difference between rollers...maybe more.

Let me know what Bob says...cheers

Looks like I'll have to do a rolling road visit sometime to confirm for sure (well, as much as saying "look, I've got a bit of paper with figures on" ) although who know's who's rollers are 100% or the best??!?

I used the default 1550 Kg. It was only me and a full tank of petrol.

Nick I used 1497kg which I worked out from the kerb weight of 1395 plus me and some fuel. I ended up within about 2hp when comparing the two figures.

I used a gtech, i know it isn't delta dash but it is the same calculation.

If you put a heavier weight in then it will show more power than it is really making.

I think you may have gone a bit over on the weight unless you are exceptionally heavy!

the way that myself and bob worked it out was 1385 (my understanding of kerb weight of an 03 wrx) + me (105kg) + bob (65~kgs) + half a tank (30kgs) + 20kgs of crap in the boot. Comes in about 1605 if ive added it up right...

Wagon (1410 Kg) + Me (85) + Fuel (60) = 1556 Kg

Neil - where did the 105 Kg come from!? - you hide it well

In the end I used 1590 kg for Neil's car with a 26% loss adjustment for flywheel power being a 5 speed with viscous diffs.

Harv, not got your email yet...did you send it to my hotmail?

I like it that you can get a print out of the ecutek results - didn't think that would be possible

It looks like the results can be compared with most roller results - with near as dam it weight figures - as rollers vary, sometimes by 20 - 30 bhp from what I've read in the past.
