my 95 wagon is making a funny knocking/banging noise when i start to reverse and turn the wheel at the same time,it only does it for a second or two but then it does it again when i set off to go forwards, any one help??

 

sounds diff or cv joint related perhaps.

Could also be brake pads moving in the calipers, mine does the same- MY00.

yep but normally a single knock and usually when brakes applied in opposite direction to previous use.
