Default 3 Port Boost Solenoid
Found one on my RA (well Gossy did!)

Erm...

What's the benefits on a standard WRX RA of having one? If any?

They can handle boost more accurately AFAIK. When I swapped my 2 port for a 3 port, it made a big difference.
