Default Gearbox/Diff oils

Anyone recommend any oils to use when replacing the gearbox/diff oil.

had a quick look at halfords etc, comma do some, is this cool stuff.

any specific grade to use for smoothness of gears etc ?

anyone know the maount to use in gearbox/diff ?

Castrol Syntrax (75w90)

IIRC about a litre for the rear & about 4 litres in the box

Bloody hell,is this castrol stuff made from gold or summut, ive tried APD,brown brothers,partco and local halfords,none have it nor can get it
!!!!!!!!

equivalent is DX 75w90 gear oil,4.5 litres,£15

I think all gearbox/diff oil has gold in it! I paid £9 a litre for Valvolene fully synthetic, and they don't do it in 5 litre cans either which probably hikes the price.
I used about 4.1 litres in my MY00 classic, although could have got away with exactly 4 litres...

Give this a go http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ got my gearbox oil from them, very good service, next day delivery and much cheaper than others.

cheers STI IOW,but i found some, in the smallest place, castrol Driveline syntrax universal, £10 litre.
