It is 26, but not sure what that is on a Sport.
The Saxonfields bible of error codes puts it down as :
26 Air Temperature Sensor (Justy)

Reading you post on the Impreza sport forum, it now sounds like you have found the sensor.
don't bother trying to clean it but measure it's resistance.

If it's anything like the STi one and the one recommended for my apexi is should measure about 2K (2000 ohms). I expect it's gone open circuit or very high resistance.
