DIY Cambelt change
Has anyone done their own cambelt change?
I do all my own mechanics and providing there are no silly special tools it doesn't really bother me having a go at a belt.
Has anyone else done one and is there anything to watch for?
Cheers

i wouldnt recommend it especially if u intend to sell soonish. theres a guy in Walsall who'll supply a belt and tensioners for dirt cheap. i picked up 4x platinum plugs from his yesterday for £10.

Yup, I done mine, wasnt too bad. Just gotta take as much stuff outa the way as poss' first to make the job easier, the main crank bolt was a bit of a b**tard on mine, get "all" the markings lined up, need a press or similar to slowly compress the tensioner for refitting, oh yeh & whatever you do dont let any of the pulleys move while theres no belt on or you can run into all sorts of problems.

Nothing to worry about really its a piece of cake.
It will be the passenger side lower pulley that will move so be careful (but i'm sure once all the other pulleys are lined up with there alignment marks that it doesnt matter if it moves anyway)
Guide can be found here : http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs.../dohctbelt.pdf
Oher tech guides are here just for info - http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs/pdf/pdf.html
