Heat Management Engine Bay advice.
Im looking to create a cool air chamber in the engine bay to sheild the airfilter from the engine on my newage. Does anyone have a template or know where i can buy the heat shield material i would require to undertake this. Any advice on this subject would be very helpfull

I am sure there were 'kits' on ebay! Try a search.
These comprised of sheet stainles (good and thin so flexible) and shapedto follow the main componemts.
There are professional parts available, so try Powerstation who list a cold air box as used on their Racer and the wonderful Type 25.
If your airbox is stock I do not see why you need to do this, but with any aftermarket filter then it will help performance.
Hope this helps.

Easiest method is to buy a sheet of ally from Frost Automotive and cut one to fit, takes a bit of time but using a template of card first helps. All you need to do is shield the filter from the heat doesn't have to be boxed in completely.

Drop a pm to midlife or ninnybobs they have the shields fitted in their newages If I remember they were made up from templates in carbon fibre provided by Harvey.

I made 1 on my last scoob out of a bit of ally sheet, insulation mat & some rubber bead to smooth the edges off, looked well trick but took ages to get it just right around all the hoses, wires, ducts & other rubish in that corner of the bay. Hope your patient!

Gussy is right......I have a basic template for the newage heatshild (stolen from Ninnybobs )
Drop me a line and I'll send a paper copy in the post. Make one in cardboard first and then copy in alloy or carbon.
Stick silver foil on the engine side as well
