Default MD304 - max boost

Fellas,

Have an MD304 fitted at present - VF22 hybrid. What's the max boost I can run with this and ballpark figure max horsepower? Car is an sti 6 wagon, 2.2 with all supporting modifications.

thanks

Dave

It was quoted to be safe to 1.8 bar. But I exploded one apparently from overspeed at only 1.5 bar on a UK Turbo's weedy 2.0 (I didn't have any air leaks, turbos before and after had no problems). Be careful, I still remember picking the bits of compressor wheel out of my intercooler hoses, although thankfully not my engine. Others had success, but I believe at modest boost levels, which is no fun on a built 2.2 with a decent gearbox.

Ok John cheers. Might think about an upgrade then. I've set myself a target figure of 400bhp (like everyone else it seems!). Possibly a TD06? Or a bigger MD? Will all be down to cost though, as some of these turbos seem to cost £1300+.
