Default Larger Clearance on Big Ends - what does that mean ?

I'm a NON Technical, well I can uderstand if it explain in simple terms to me....

Would someone be kind enough to explain the following to me ?

Why would a 2.5 engine have a larger clearance on the big ends than a 2.0 (or from whatever the standard clearance is)

This question has arisen as apparently my 2.5ltr engine has the above and I wonder what it all meant.

I've NO idea what a normal clearance is never mind larger clearance.....

I'd like to understand the reasons behind it.... !!

Many thanks

Phil

Default

The big end on a 2.5 moves farther, so needs more room. The 2.5 has an increased stroke.
