Default MAF PROBLEM

Fitted a Pipercross cold air induction kit, shortly after fitting ECU light came on.

replaced all the original airbox and took it for a reset.

Do peeps reckon it could be a one off off is it a common thing?

Is there anyway to reset a 03 ECU?

if you unpluged the maf sensor commplete this can bring the engine warning light on. to take the engine warning light off i usaully disconnect battery for 10 mins and that usually sorts it if not just leave it off for longer i have 05 sti so does work on the newage cars.

hope this helps

or easier than that, restart the car 3 or 4 times.....and it will clear any codes.

assuming nothing is REALLY wrong.

I did disconect the MAF sensor to fit the Ind/kit engine light came on afer a short run.

I then left the battery off overnight.

So what you and nielo are saying is, if there was a genuine problem with the MAF sensor(dirty/oily) the light would stay on, if not it would go off???

with mine after disconnecting battery light went off so if you disconnected yours and stayed on it could be fault with maf but also worth trying neilo way as not heard that way til now.
when you had it reset i prosume at subaru did they say maf was fine? if so has it come on since with standard box if not then if you wanted to put Pipercross cold air induction kit back on just don't disconnect maf from the connection block
