Default td05 help ...

i have a 94 wrx L reg wagon with a tdo4 . full decat , apexi induction kit , later spec top mount intercooler , dump valve and boost tap , i can only get 1 bar boost . will a TDO5 fit straight on ? if so will it need remapping ? the ECU is a standard one that cannot be re mapped . whats the options.

if so will it need remapping ? the ECU is a standard one that cannot be re mapped . whats the options.
You would need as already stated an ECU which is suitable for the TD05 namely a Z4 or Z5 or even a UK ecu would suffice.
The standard ECU can be mapped - there is an area on the mainboard which either will have a 28pin eprom holder or just a 28pin 'footprint'
In this place either a 27C1028 or a piggyback board with 2 eproms can be fitted - either of these can have a generic map or can be custom mapped, to use either of these a link (J1) needs to be cut so the ECU reads the external Eproms - if you choose this option you could still use your current ECU
There is also the Apexi Power FC but it depends really on your budget and how far you want to go with modifications.

Cheers
