Hi,
For seperating the block i would assume i dont have to take out the gudgeon pins 1st as my pdf suggests? Dont have the pin remover. If i need to would a socket on the end of a 12" ext. do the job?
Doug.

Right, dont have a 14mm allen socket either so cant take off the access caps. Decided to take it apart with pistons in situe.
According to the pdf i ahve 11 bolts to take off 2/4 side. Can only find 10 and it aint splitting. Is there another bolt i've missed or are these a pita to seperate?
The bolts i have out are the 2 big main ones in the centre of the cylinders, 2 medium sized ones from bellow/above line of crankshaft on the front of the block, 5 small bolts off the top from front to back and 1 small one from the bottom of the block (front).

Alright Doug,
To separate the block you have to take to pins out, first take out the four access caps on each side. Rotate the crank so #1 piston pin lines up with the access hole, then using a long thin rod you can put it though the access hole on the other side of the block and knock the pin out through the hole, take out the retaining clip first though.
Its a little fiddly, but the pins come out easy if lined up with access hole. Repeat for the other pistons.
ps becareful not to let the pins drop to the ground !!!!

Right, with no obvious way of getting something through from the other side, i used a raul bolt and tried pulling it. No joy as the pin is hitting off the outside edge of the circlip channel. Thought sod it and split the block. Seems there is a ridge down the bottom of the bores preventing this piston form coming out this way. Most unusual and surprised as this would surely affect the oil flow up the bore.
Another trip onto town tomorrow to try and source a split collet bearing puller.
If anyones got a better suggestion that'll probably save me £100 give us a shout......
