Default BHP Losses MY2003 STI 8 JDM

I have recently had my car mapped and told that my BHP figure for my car is 340 @6.5k rev with 310 ft.lb of torque. At the Flywheel.
I then had it rolling road tested at another garage and was told that i am running 267 @ 6.5k at the wheels but got no torque printout.

Does this loss sound normal?

I say this as even the garage who rolling roaded it didn't know what the loss through transmition should be?

Any suggestions or further information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Strat

I normally allow for 100bhp losses. So 73, is quite nice news.

Same car. 2003 STI JDM

Allow circa 24% on a six speed box assuming its a DCCDA and was run with the diff locked. On a five speed allow circa 26%. Good rule of thumb, you'll find some rolling roads showing nearer 40% though which is a bit of a nonsense.

Strat that sounds near enough given you used two different sets of rollers for the figs, what was the paw on the original dyno ? or was it an "on the road" power derivation. 267 would equate to 351 at the flywheel using my rules. You can calc the torque if you know power and revs.

cheers

What is the calculations for the torque conversion thanks?

Original PAW is unknown as this was done without me being thier!!!

Got a shock when told the paw at second rolling road as i was under impression it was at wheels first run!!! doh!!!

I phoned tsl the other week and was told i could get 380 bhp from my car with the twin scroll turbo i have at the moment i suppose thats at the fly wheel then?
Would this also require the 3" pipe from turbo back? with no CAT's? as i have a 3" HKS hyper exhaust at the moment which is 3" from first CAT back i.e i only have 1 CAT! Would you sudjest the complete HKS 3" so i dont have any bottle neck?
Cheers!!!!

I think there are lots of factors to wbhp, tyres, temps, pressures, rollers, grip, so it can be a little inaccurate.
Highest ive seen my car push at the wheels is 260bhp, that was producing approximately 316bhp@fly, its also produced 255@wheels whilst producing 318bhp, but they used some stuff to give the wheels more grip

Best laugh ive seen in ages
The most you will see on the standard turbo is about 360bhp give or take a bhp or 2.

My old car has just made 377 bhp and 376 ft lbs which is close to its maximum on the VF37, thats at the flywheel, most I ever had from it was 384 bhp. Takes some doing though and a fuel strategy involving methanol and octane booster. On pump fuel as Tony says ... no chance. With a cat anywhere in the system then you will be limited to about 80% of that.
