hi-flow cat
hi instead of getting a de-cat for my classic(although had 2 de-cats n previouse cars)
dont want hassle of mot and roadside hecks.
seen high flow cat at scooby world for 299 any1 know any facts and info about this thanks.

This is the Ninja Sports cat DP; it's very good. I've got one on my MY99 and it made 319bhp and 316ft lbs recently, this is actually at the higher end of what would have been expected give my mods, so its not a restriction at all. Even before the remap and other mods, just with the Ninja DP and decat centre section the car felt better!

If it is the Ninja sports-cat/downpipe, then I can only say good things about it as well.
Got one on my V6 Type-R, and with a tek-3/panel filter/exhaust got almost 320 bhp and 330lbft. Doesn't seem to be a restriction at least at that sort of power,
and saves you the hassle of swapping back to the std cat for MOTetc.
Mine flew throught its test last month...

I have a wide throat down pipe with sports cat 100 cells / sq inch. Standard are 600 I think.
My car is a 97UK classic, I put this cat / down pipe on with a straight though centre section (so just 1 cat) and flowed OEM headers and I got a genuine 32+ bhp straight away ie up to 240. No remap or anything else (standard 208 and at 8 years old probably a bit down on that)
Passed emmissions tests no problem. If you are changing to a single cat make sure its the one closeat to the engine as they work better the hotter they are.
Also just saw a thread about an emmissions failure on decat - no surprise, but the guy was looking to mod the original cat to make job of tempory fitting easier !! Seems expensive and hard work to me.
Have done a few more mods now and I'm expecting 300bhp on 95RON fuel by end of August, the exhaust is not the limiting factor.

induction/dump valve/prodrive b/b....
will be fitted walbro 255 fuel pump/sports high flow cat and center d-cat
anything else i should be thinking of but not to over the top. cheers.

Howdy, just picked up on this thread-the ninja dp sounds real good but does anyone know if i could fit one to a non-turbo 1.6? if its a case of an adapting flange i could easily knock one up in work

Definitely worth running a sports cat pipe. Looks like you've realised, along with loads of us already, that the days of decats are numbered. It's not 1991 any more LOL. I reckon people who still go through the hassle of putting a cat pipe on once a year are just pissing in the wind to coin a phrase. :-)
