Without having done so on a scoob or remembering how easily accessible the airbox is within the engine bay I would assume that it is a simple matter of removing the airbox housing cover, taking out the old filter and replacing it with the new filter, put the cover back on and hey presto...... an instant 60bhp mod (on a nova)!

Sorry if this comes across as patronising but it can't be that hard unless the airbox is a c*nt to get at, can't really remember having never done it before.

Rob.

Undo the clips on each side, waggle the lid around a bit especially where it's sort of hinged at the bottom, and it helps if you move the wires and pipes that are attached to it out of the way too. Even without it fully open, you can slide the old filter out quite easily if you remove the bonnet rubber from the wing.

You're looking at the intercooler, not the air filter!

As you look in the engine it's on the left hand side in front of the suspension, big black box, may be clips but it might be 4 screws holding the cover on.

Oh it gets better. When i looked at the afront mentioned point near the front left of the engine for the filter box i suddenly remembered that it has an aftermarket HKS mushroom filter on it (it's a surprise i don't bump into things more often tbh).

So now i've got a brand new (unused ) TSL green panel filter going spare if someone wants it for their classic. I'll stick it in for sale section as soon as my red face has died down a little.

Hmmmm just opened my Green one and read the maintenance / care instructions where it says after washing & treating it should be sprayed uniformly with Green oil. This is after 7,000-10,000 kms. My question would be: Does it need any kind of oiling before first use?

Not normally - Does it appear dry ? They're usually pre-oiled IIRC....
