STi IC water spray fault
I have a problem with the IC water spray on my MY99 Sti5, all is normal until the ECU sprays the intercooler at which point rather than spraying for 5 seconds or so and stopping it continues until the ignition is switched off. Switching off the auto IC spray has no effect on the spray once it is active, nor does the manual spray button.
If the car is left to cool the spray does not start until the ECU requires it again but if switched off and restarted the spray starts immediately even if engine not actually started so based on ignition key position.
I would like to get this fixed asap, I suspect it would be a sensor problem with charge temp but am only speculating. Hopefully it is not an ECU problem!
Hope someone can help
Rob

That certainly sounds like a possibility I will have a nose about under the dash this evening to see if I can see anything obviosuly ticking when the manual spray is used.
Hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction should I not be able to find it.
Thanks
Rob

Rob do you let your other 1/2 drive the car ?
I suspect she will have had all the lights on the Knocklink lit up like a christmas tree and she will have somehow managed to get some lipstick wedged in the pump relay, suggest you change the locks asap .
