Question Help with Judder on MY00 UK turbo

Hi All,

"A mate with a MY2000 has a problem, can you please help. See below:

When accelerating in mainly 2nd and 3rd gear a juddering starts at 4,000rpm, when turbo kicks in, and stops approx 4500rpm – seems to be a lack of power after that also.

Local garage is unsure of problem but thinks it may be down to the air filter I have fitted which is affecting the MAF sensor…..

Please help!

X reg 2000 Uk turbo"

Any Ideas?

Cheers

Alan

Does it have a Magnex or Twin Dump decat downpipe. If so it may be rubbing on the gearbox.

Alan,

Get it to a specialist to have the MAf checked now!!!! Drive off-boost till then!! It might not be that, but it's better to play safe as a dodgy Maf can kill your engine PDQ!!

FYI A recent post by another user who thinks he's shaggeed his engine is looking increasingly like the classic, shot maf/melted piston scenario! So really get it looked at asap.

Loose the VTA dump valve too!
