NEWBIE Q: Do mod's equal meltdown ?!
I picked up my first Impreza, a 2001 WRX, on Wednesday.
Great car !
Am considering an Ecutek3 remap after replacing the centre pipe with an H&S
centre pipe.
A couple of questions :
1)Will the CEL light go on due to the removal of the centre CAT ?
2)Will I be risking detonation/engine damage ?
What's the consensus and what have people's experiences been over these matters ?

1) no as it is the sensor in the downpipe that might cause that to happen
2) no if mapped properly it will be sweet as a nut
my experience is you've already waited to long and get it booked in ASAP you wont regret it

the car shouldnt det after the remap. If it does then the mapper hasn't done his/her job properly. Saying that it should not det before a remap either!
People have done more mods than you without a remap and been okay so don't worry about it.
