I had over boost problems (loads of chirping) at a sprint recently, I checked as much as poss and all seamed OK. Last night I removed the wastegate solenoid pipework from my old Type RA engine and noticed that they were connected the other way round to that on the WRX Sti (1997 ) does it make any difference.

Do both cars have the same type of boost control solenoid, I would have expected the early RA to have a 3 port and the MY97 car to have a 2 port.

They both have an itentical boost control solenoid, pre 1997 cars had the 3 port one.
