jumping out of gear

jumping out of gear
Driving along the motorway at a steady (for legal reasons) 70mph for about 10 miles when the car slipped out of 5th gear into neutral. Everything seemed okay before and after this episode. First time in 20 years of driving this has happened in any car that i've been in. Any "sensible" thoughts on what it may have been or whether there is an underlying fault. (MY00 turbo)

Typical 5th gear nut. Search for similar threads and shop around. A Subaru dealer will probably take the box out (or tell you he has) and charge you c£375, but it is not that difficult really and can be done with the box in the car.
