Default TD06 20G

How would this turbo perform on a 2 ltr engine with tubular headers, spool wise and power wise?

This turbo doesn't have an internal wastegate,is it very difficult to fit an external one? the exhaust manifold would also need a re-work to fit.I've been thinking the same, theres a few going cheap at the mo. Would be interesting to see peoples veiws.

External wastegate setup would require at least.

New up pipe,
Downpipe,
Remote wastegate.
Supporting fueling mods,
Remapping/management changes

The turbo might be cheap but getting the required items to run it will not be cheap and a bit pointless unless the engine is builty to get the most from it.

Id say buy an internal gated one, and bolt it straight on. Then adjust the fueling and management as required.

Think i will save a bit longer for a 18G then, as i have only recently had the engine rebuilt.

Yes indeed, but you'd need huge mods to need more than a TD05-20G.
Wouldn't the TD06 feel slugish in general day to day driving?

I've also done a 2.5 conversion, and need to change my old 16g. Is the 49G a direct replacement? or does it need modification to the car?
