What, the throttle position sensor? It should give an output of between 0.3-0.7v at closed throttle/idle, 0.5 is about spot on. IIRC full throttle is around 4.5v.

unless it is a phase 1, in which case the voltage is reversed.
Are you replacing it?
fit it and leave screws lose enough for it to move by hand..
start the car and position it so the engine idles fine, it will rev if you position it too high etc.. do the screws up..
should find it is fine.. not exactly scientific way to do it but should work perfectly.
