Default CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Hi,

Topped my car up with some more oil today..

Had a drive out but didnt seem to boost properly .. car wouldnt go over 80mph !! five minuites later i put my foot down again and it seemed alot better, although not quite as quick as i am used to it...

Anyway another 10 mins down the road the " Check engine " light came on, the car hasnt been hardly modified at all apart from a dump valve ( turbosmart ) and a backbox. ( Just to rule out the ECU, as some aftermarket ECU's will make this light display )

Could anyone give me any suggestions on this please !! the car is a WRX Wagon MY94 ( JDM )

cheers

Matt

could be you've over filled it and the boost solenoid is filled with oil and is now throwing a CEL

You may find this site useful it tells you how to diagnose the codes from flashes and then which code relates to problem area
eg. would be cel45 if solenoid...?

Default Got It Checked out ...

Hi , went down to Carnteiks today.. who are VERY helpfull, ran a check on error code, it was apparently down to the Power steering and idle, i.e the revs were'nt altering when you turn the steering wheel, so pretty minor.

It seems that the Boosting problem, could be down to the Boost solenoid ? will get this checked out when Downpipes fitted. And also the Catted downpipe, seems too restrictive ? maybe a blockage or something.. getting it decatted anyway.. just thaught ild metion it incase any one else was expeirencing the same problems ( bad solenoid can also cause jerking ) as it is tempremental with adjusting the boost correctly.

My car is a 94 wrx Wagon JDM ( TD04 ) as mentioned before, its totally stock.. acheiving 0.7 ( Max ) Bar Boost, does this seem OK ?
