One of my employees traded her 02 WRX on similar mileage to a Mini dealer for £7k today. It was white and standard with just a few alloy scrapes, think the mileage was 40000-50000 range, so be careful what you pay for what is a very ugly and slow car in stock form.

Really does perhaps depend upon what you are looking for and the purpose of the car. A family car, daily driver, weekend b road blaster, show car.... I think you get the idea of what I'm getting at..

Sounds like you have pretty much made your mind up with the 2001 WRX so you really need to be researching for facts and specs on this car..similar prices for the same car..?? ebay/autotrader/ local garages/internet searches etc... check and compare warranties ...service history etc...Test drive and view a few before ya heart decides for you....

Cheers guys.

Have put down a deposit and collect the car next week.
Was influenced by a good trade in offer on my car , which needs £1000 of work to get it through it's MOT in a few months (the garage owner didn't even bother to start it up) . I feel bad ! It's the garage that's supposed to con me and not the other way round !

01 WRX is perfect for your purpose.
As already stated, cambelt should have been changed already. If not, or unsure, get it done. You should be able to get it for a lot less than the dealer price.
