Default battery lifespan

hi guys, was wondering if batteries are mileage or age dependent??

as in, which would the battery die first??

high mileage 2 year old car or low mileage 5 year old car?? both cars are daily driven.

Thanks!!

Cars that do low mileage or arent used offten (the battery is deep cycled) require more frequent changes as lead acid cells dont like being discharged.

Batteries tend to last between 2 and 5 years.

I think it will depend on how it is treated, if you do a lot of sitting in the car with the radio etc on with out the engine running i'm sure that would shorten the battery life.

Same here, at 6 1/2 years old and still turns engine at cranking speed it did when new.
Mrs. V's Micra K11, just changed, also same age original battery and our previous K10 Micra at 10 1/2 years old had original battery.
Our 16V Astra previous to Scooby also had original battery last 10 years.
Keep the terminals free of corrosion and lubricated with Vasoline or battery grease, the battery top clean and make sure the battery is not loose.
Check electrolyte level if standard or low maintainance type.
