Default mapping questions!!

Hi all, new to this and got a few questions you have probably all heard before!

running a MY97 uk turbo, already fitted the following;

headers & complete ninja decat
FMIC
HKS mushroom filter.

Just purchased the following;

Apexi SAF2
Apexi AVCR
TD05 big 16G front entry

My questions are;

Is the Power FC my only option for a mappable ECU?
Where can i get it mapped once purchased? within a resonable distance from York!
Is it going to be safe driving the car with the new turbo without the remap? as i am going to need to get it to the mapper.

what sort of power increase would i expect?
Is there anything else you would suggest purchasing before the mapping?

Cheers!!

Dont think you will need the SAFC with the power fc. I know alot of people who go with the avc-r and SAFC and no ecu then others go for ecu only.

Stay off boost on the drive to the mapper and you'll be fine.

I fitted the turbo and decat along with some other mods to my UK97 and didn't get it mapped for some time. It ran 297 bhp and showed no sign of det etc. In fact Rich Wild formerly @ Jap Innovations ran mods on his UK97 over 350 bhp and again never saw any issues.

After the Apexi ecu had been fitted I noticed a considerable improvement and achieved 320bhp (and that was on the standard TMIC)

Andy Forrest did my mapping and he did a fantatsic job. We are planning on getting him down from Scotland in June/ early July. Check the Northern Forum for details.
