Default water pressure issues

just a quick question to put my mind at rest i have got some water pressure issues with my 99t the pipes seem to be expanding and feel under pressure from the rad its not loosing any coolant and the gauge says all is ok i am not seeing any discolouration of the coolant but a mech says the heads may be gone hydro carbon test came back ok rad split so fitted a new one end tank was perished any ideas?/?/?

Water expands when it gets hot.

Id be worried if the pipes didnt have fluid in them, thats a warning sign of air in the system, yours sound ok.

When O/E pipes are old, they sometimes balloon before they fail. This is because one or more of the layers of the pipe has/have failled.
Typically your cooling system will work at 10 psi so to see it is under that level of pressure is normal.
Sometimes when you squash one of these pipes when it is dry it will "crunch2 This is because the woven re-enforcing is breaking up through age.

I agree with Harvey, I have found from my experience that when the rad has gone, the hoses soon follow (top rad and bottom rad)
