Fizz,
thanks for the info, but i bought a TypeUK Sti intercooler not the V9, the intercooler came from a bugeye.. so it should be a straight fit, without any faffing about correct???

Because its an easy mod. Do you actually realise how good the top mounts are for the cash? Think Andy Forrest has got silly power from a top mount.
Besides most people (me included) aren't looking for mega power from a WRX...

When Andy was running a top mount he was doing quarter miles only.
I guess you want to run further than a quarter of a mile at a time. Andy will tell you himself that he went to a FMIC to enable him to do top speed runs. (1.25 miles)
Have you ever measured your induction charge temperatures.
A suitable guage, easy to fit, will cost under £45.
Even if top mounts were free they might be a very bad choice if you were going to utilise sustained boost.
I don't think 320-340 bhp is mega power but top mounts are unable to hold stable temperatures at these power levels. I know because I have measured them on several cars.
