Default Cambelt Change Interval

Can anyone tell me the recommended cambelt change interval on a UK MY00 Turbo 2000?

I have read in different places that it is either every 45000 or 60000 miles. Which is right ?

Thanks for any info anyone can give me.

It changed on the 2000 model, I had exactly the same problem when MY99 came up to its first belt change, the dealer thought it was 60000 the service book said 45000 or 3 years.
I phoned Subaru technical dept and they confirmed 45000 miles for a MY99.

However the belt and the part number are the same, so it looks like Subaru had extended the service interval to satisfy fleet or lease hire to keep the costs down.

In my opinion I would change it at 45000 and oils every 5000, says 7500 in the book or every 6 months for engine oil.
The belt is not expensive compared to an engine re-build.

Hope this helps
