they are pretty much a direct fit, HOWEVER you will need some supporting mods to run this engine safely.......................

If you are from the UK, you can get them cheaper than that from flat4online think they are £1260.

go to www.flat4online.co.uk then go to the newage section (00-05). Would of given a direct link but the site seems to be down at the mo.

It is an easy swap, you'll need a few gaskets and seals, a bung for the extra crankcase breather. Good time to renew the engine mounts, belts and pumps. Speak to Mark at Lateral performance, he gave me all the advice and parts required for the swap

Mine is a bit odd, MY95 with STIv3 heads, phase 1 manifold. You need a phase 1.5 or later water cross pipe (which a STIv4 has), so like I say, an easy swap as long as you research the items you need. See my thread in projects for more details, also see Dyney's thread in Projects theres a good list of the bits required in there.

Upgrades, my EJ257 was second hand and came with a RCM uprated oil pump and ARP head studs. You need a 1.6mm head gasket for a EJ257, but talk to Mark to clarify.

Dont forget to add on the cost of the remap too

I will be doing this if my 2.0 bottom end ever does let go.
