Default Rough running

I've had my 94 WRX about 5 months, but its started to run rough, in other words sounds tappety (if you know what I mean).

I'm sure when I first got it, it ran smoother.

What could this mean?

Hope somone can help! cheers

Low oil, needs oil changed, valve lash needs adjusting, using 95 ron fuel instead of 98.... Thicker oil than before....

few suggestions for starters delete as not applicable.

shell helix ultra is the oil I last put it in can't remember the thickness but it was said a good choice on here, and there's enough in there.

I ALWAYS use Optimax, there's a shell garage around the corner of my road! (YES!!! )

Maybe I Need change of oil?
