Question Nur Spec Exhaust

Hi lads Just a quick query for anyone out there with a Nur spec (Back box and center section) as a mate of mine is thinking of buying one for his MY97 wrx. I have the afterburner vortex with center section which i am more than happy with but he has heard the nur is louder. Is this the case??????

From the few times i've heard the Afterburner, it's not as loud as my Nur Spec

From experience the NUR spec is louder, add a 3" downpipe and it's unbelievable! I've got some sound files, if you PM me your email address I'll send them across!

Smile Blitz Nur Spec R

got to say mate you should have spent the extra few quid yourself and gone for the Blitz while the afterburner is a great exhaust which fits excellent and sounds as good as it gets it is no way as good as or as loud as the blitz tell your mate to go for it i know i did and i've still got a smile on my face two years later.

It's LOUD. Enough said lol.

I have one on my V4 Type R as well as a H&S front pipe/de-cat and 99% of the time I leave the bung in, it's still the loudest car I've had even with the bung in, makes my Rover turbo sound quiet even at full chat and that runs 12.8 @ 114mph, FWD and wasnt that subtle noise wise.

I drove it home from Crail with the bung out last weekend and had a headache by the time I got to Leven, literally, the motorway was just a joke, didnt speak to the gf for the last hour as it was too much effort to compete with the exhaust note at 70-80. Sounds ace though, but IMO definately bung out only for events, weekend blats etc, I must be getting on a bit lol, 25 and old already.

Agree with that man - have a Nur Spec system on my classic with no cats. Sounds great at idle and on acceleration - but is a pain in the *** on the motorway runs - you do need to shout to your passengers at anything over 2000 RPM.

It will **** your neighbours off if like me you start your car early in the morning or come home late at night.

Now imagine it in a classic without sound deadening!

It's an Haward and Scott Downpipe, think they are around the £200 mark. I bought the car with the exhaust as it is!

The sound files were taken at a standstill, the NUR spec sounds even better under load!!! You'll be sick when you here your mates, especially if he decides to get the 3" downpipe as well!!!

I have a H&S downpipe on its way to me... can't wait to run it onto my Nur Spec....
It's great at the moment
Had the neighbours across the road telling me the bass notes were going straight through their house and into their garden

Luckily he likes the car but I have to be careful with it ! Blew the bung out though last week don't think I tightened the bolt tight enough. Suddenley went from quiet(ish) to loud. Walked back to find cars had driven over the smaller end need to fix it now
